HHH Net
The HHH net (pronounced "triple H net") was conceived and brought into being in 1976 by a group of amateur radio operators who shared a common interest in obtaining a "Workied All States" certificate and who desired to assist one another in that venture. Over the last twenty-five years it has fulfilled that purpose completely and it has evolved into so much more.
The net meets every night at 0700 UTC on 7.245 Mhz in the 40 meter amateur band. It has become more of a fraternity than a net operation. There are seemingly countless awards that may be attained to keep one's interest keen, but the friendships that are formed are much more satisfying than the certificates and QSL cards.
The HHH net just recently held a 25th Anniversary Convention in Des Moines, Iowa. I was lucky enough to be able to attend this convention and I had a wonderful time and met some dear friends.
